We are always planning for our last disaster (instead of the next one!). Emergency planning is the key to a quick response and a positive outcome to disasters that will affect our properties.

Many of us procrastinate about making emergency plans, usually due to other priorities. But as we have seen from the COVID-19 pandemic, emergencies and disasters occur whether we have a plan or not. The difference between a well-managed emergency and sheer pandemonium is the extent to which you as the manager have planned for the emergency and trained your staff on that plan. Once the disaster hits, it’s too late to start planning.

Our instructor, Jeff Lapin, CPM, is not only a veteran manager of all kinds of properties, he is a Certified Fire Safety Director for the City of San Francisco (inactive) and was a partner in a company that specialized in formulating and training staff and tenants - Emergency Management Services. As such, Jeff has created emergency plans for all types of emergencies including fires, floods, earthquakes, power failures and many more. He will discuss the step-by-step process of formulating, training and conducting exercises of emergency plans for commercial and multifamily properties.

You will come away from this presentation with a set of tools that you can use right away to formulate a viable emergency plan for your properties that is simple but effective. If you are responsible for management of a property during any type of emergency, this webinar is a must-attend for you.
